The way we were, Heist-aan-Zee, 1973 (2)

This marine beach scene depicts two children, a boy and a girl, brother and sister, at the border of the sea. The girl, her feet in the water, is overlooking the sea, the boy is playing. The size and monochrome (black & white, grey) colour create a reference to old photographs and place the scene with some nostalgia in the early seventies. This can also be deviated from the vintage clothing of the kids.

This nostalgic miniature painting is part of the series “The way we were – the miniature series”. The paintings in this series are all made on thick wooden panels of premium quality, which are sealed against yellowing.

They can also be bought together as a series, to hang together.

The pictures are unsigned, as they may be bought together, but at purchase they can be signed on request of the buyer. In that case the artist prefers to sign with the title and her name (very small) in the white area, or on the back of the painting.
