« Cenelles » after the rain

 120,00

"Cenelles" are the fruit of the hawthorn. They are shaped like small apples and are harvested at the end of summer. While cooking, they catch the taste of the apple. Formerly, they were used as flour to make bread. Their German name" Mehlbeere" meaning "flour berries" is a historical trace of this food use. They are made into compotes but also into coffee after roasting them. Drawing with colored pencils on A3 sheet.
